ABA and USACE Safety and CQM Training Programs 6th US-Afghan Matchmaking Conference, Washington DC, USA Accounting Training
![]() The Afghanistan Builders Association (ABA) launched an Accounting workshop to its members in October 2007 that around 40 participants from different construction companies attended and the participants could learn the usage of Accounting Software in their financial operations. The training which was for ten full days, held in AICC Hall and the participants were mainly the financial employees of companies.This training workshop was inaugurated by the opening speech of ABA president, Mr. Naeem Yassin and Mr. Azarakhsh Hafizi, Chairman of AICC. ABA is pleased enough paving the way to its members promote in accordance with the voluminous changes occur in the fields of managerial and financial technologies and necessitates going with the tide.The accounting training of ABA to its member was a great experience to all participants as they could get acquaintance with the software facilities that the new technological achievements of global development has brought them. The training concluded with a quiz evaluating the level of its efficiency along with the interest of participants to such sessions.In the end of this training period, certificates awarded to participants through a ceremonial party which was held in AICC Hall and more representatives from USAID-ASMED, AICC, and CEOs of some companies, ABA board members, media representatives and a number of guests had attended this graduation party. This party was inaugurated by the opening speech of ABA president, Mr. Naeem Yassin and Mr. Hafizi, the Chairman of AICC, Mr. John the representative of USAID-ASMED and other companies’ directors delivered their speeches to audiences in turn. This party concluded by awarding the certificates to participants of training, and ABA pledged to all its members for running such programs in the future to upgrade the operational potencies of all construction companies.
Opening ceremony of constructing Administration Building for Ministry of Agriculture and livestock! ![]() H.E Obaidullah Ramin Minister of Agriculture and Livestock and H.E Engineer Khalid Pashtoon Minister of Urban Development put the foundation stone for constructing new building of administration department of Agriculture and Livestock Ministry. Mohammad Qurban Haqjo Chief of trade and industry chamber, Naeem Yasin president of Afghanistan Builders Association (ABA), and Sharif Saeed Chief of International Chamber of Commerce of Tajikistan were the chief guests of this event. Harif Construction Company which is an active member of Afghanistan Builders Association (ABA) will undertake the project, construction of this building will be covered for a total budget of 2 million USD which will cover the construction expenses of this 8 floor building in 2000m2 of land.
Job Fair
On 23rd of April 2008, Afghan Training Vocational Institute facilitated an exhibition in ATVI which was financially sponsored by CDP (Capacity Development Program). The purpose of this event was to promote and introduce newly graduated students of this institute. Different organizations, industrial and IT companies participated in the event and ABA was one of the active participants. This year, ATVI graduated 600 students in different fields such as construction, computer and Automobile engineering. In addition, H.E. Mohammad Hanif Atmar minister of education, administrator of USAID shared their precious moments in the events. In their speeches, they requested and appreciated all companies to support and offer jobs to the newly graduated students of ATVI. They added, we have planned such other programs in order to support the capacity development process in Afghanistan. Mrs. Henriettafore (USAID Administrator), Henry M Striplin (leader of private sector team), Susan Slomback (senior training advisor), Stephen H. Stull (Deputy Chief of Party) met ABA members and promised a strong support to Afghanistan Builders Association (ABA). Basic Computer Training Following the capacity enhancement programs of ABA to its members, the computer training workshop was held by ABA for ten days in IQRA Institute of Modern Studies from Sep 15 to 25, 2007.In this training 25 participants from ABA member companies attended the lessons and the typical segments of Ms Office package was taught to participants along with significant options of Ms Windows and hardware fundamentals. Whereas, most of afghan private construction companies are operating traditionally in all activities fields, the launching of computer training seemed to be vital to be held for them. ![]() ![]()
The participants could learn to create Database for there companies, utilizing spreadsheet and other significant parts of basic computer programs to use within there administrative activities.This training session was concluded by setting up a ceremonial party in which the ABA president along with Board Members, AICC chairman and certain board members, ASMED delegates, Media representatives and some Directors of construction companies and associations, had attended. In this ceremonial party, ABA president, AICC chairman, ASMED and some companies representatives stated their speeches to audiences and screened by media. The participants were awarded certificates and exhorted to keep learning the computer programs and packages as required in the fields of there managerial and operational activities to facilitate their implementations. ABA committed to succor all its members upgrade by conducting various training sessions. project activities. The significant subjects and contexts pertaining to construction management were taught to participants within this training session and all the participants who were mostly engineers and technical staffs of member companies.
